Coconut Lagoon Heritage Resort is hidden among the palm trees on the eastern shore of Lake Vembanadu, at the mouth of the Kavanar River. A trip to Italy in December will grab anyone's attention and Sicily in the winter is especially worth a visit. We were on the way to Mazara Del Vallo an ancient town in southwestern Sicily, which lies mainly on the left bank at the mouth of the Mazaro River but is administratively part of the Province of Trapani. We flew via Rome to Palermo and landed in the early afternoon hours of a still relatively warm December day. To our delight we discovered that there is a non-stop service available from New York to Palermo in season. At the airport we were expected by a nicely uniformed lady holding up a customized sign, which read: “Welcome Mr. and Mrs. Buehrmann, Kempinski Hotel Giardino di Costanza”. Miss Linda inquired after our wellbeing and guided us to the hotel's limousine parked right at the exit where a friendly, uniformed driver, Asaro Vincenzo, seemed honestly delighted to meet us and greeted us with a solid handshake. Asaro stowed our luggage and after we had freshened up with moist guest towels, we were quickly on our the way. Once upon a time, Swiss International Airline carried a Seven Stars and Stripes reviewer team, this time from Zurich to Prague, where they landed on an unusually mild evening in February, their destination the ‘Alchymist Hotel and Spa’. Oheska Castle

Golden rays of spring sunshine filled my bedroom and although it was 5 AM I was filled with excitement, energy and expectation for another amazing Seven Stars and Stripes review. Our team would be meeting at one of the grandest and most iconic estate mansions in the U.S. - The OHEKA Castle. This 18th century jewel is located in Huntington, 45 minutes from New York City on Long Island's famed Gold Coast. We arrived at the upscale community of Cold Spring Hills and drove slowly up the gently ascending road to the OHEKA Castle. At the guardhouse by the entrance to the Castle grounds our credentials were checked and approved. Within minutes an electrically operated heavy metal gate opened to grant us access to another world and era in Long Island's History. As we drove up the beautifully maintained gravel road to the castle we were transported back in time, to the opulent world of Otto Kahn, financier and philanthropist of the early 1900’s. Upon entering the cobble-stoned courtyard in our large stretch limo, white-gloved staff members greeted us and welcomed us to the castle.

Hotel designed by Sybarite Architects would feature a two-storey jungle at the top of the 28-storey building

Developers are said to be hovering over this unique 7-star hotel in Dubai designed by Sybarite Architects after a major hotel group showed interest in putting up the funds.

The US$350m (£173m) 28-floor Aperiron building would be 300m from the Dubai coast and accessible only by boat or helicopter.

As well as 438 luxury suites, it would contain a spa, an art gallery, and an underwater restaurant with views into a surrounding lagoon.

To top it off, the top two floors would house a temperature-controlled butterfly jungle with tropical species.

Its unique structural design has not yet garnered a nickname, but Building staff have variously named it ‘The Rollmop’, ‘The Pringle’ and ‘The Funne
